# Tasks Without a Due Date

> Find, search and schedule Linear tasks that don't have a due date yet, using the bar at the bottom of the calendar.

Tasks without a due date don't have a day on the calendar. LinCal collects them in a bar at the bottom of the screen, so you can still find them and give them a date.

## Open and close the bar

The bar is always visible at the bottom of the calendar. It shows **Tasks without a due date** and the number of tasks.

* Click the bar to **expand** it and see the task cards.
* Click it again to collapse it.

The number shows **100+** when there are more tasks than LinCal loads. See [What the bar shows](#what-the-bar-shows).

## Schedule a task

Drag a task card from the bar onto a day in the calendar. The task gets that day as its due date. See [Drag and Drop](https://docs.lincal.app/using-lincal/drag-and-drop.md) for more.

You can also click a card to open it and edit its properties, the same way as any other task card.

## Remove a due date

While you drag a task card, two drop zones appear in the bar. Drop the card on **Drop to remove due date** to move it into the bar. You don't need to expand the bar first.

## What the bar shows

* Up to **100** tasks without a due date, **most recently updated first**.
* Only tasks **updated in the last 2 months**.
* Only tasks that match your [filters](https://docs.lincal.app/using-lincal/filtering.md). If the bar is empty, check your filters.
* The usual [Display Options](https://docs.lincal.app/using-lincal/display-options.md) apply, including **Show completed**, **Show sub-tasks** and **Ordering**.

For how LinCal decides which tasks to load, see [Task Loading and Visibility](https://docs.lincal.app/using-lincal/task-load-visibility.md).

## Search the bar

You can search the tasks in the bar by title.

1. Click the **magnifier** icon, or expand the bar.
2. Type in the **Search tasks...** box. LinCal filters the tasks that are already loaded.
3. Press **Esc** to clear the search. Press **Esc** again to close the bar.

### Search entire workspace

If the task you want isn't in the list, type at least two characters and click **Search entire workspace**. You can also press **Enter**.

* It searches task **titles** beyond the loaded list, including tasks not updated in the last 2 months.
* It follows your current filters.
* It shows up to **100** results.
* It isn't available while a Linear view is selected.

If nothing matches, the bar says **No matching tasks**.
